P for Poetry

Poetry.

As many of you dear readers may be aware, that I have a Penchant for Poetry and in Particular, nonsense rhyme and Limericks.

Amongst some of my favourite writers is Lewis Carroll, who wrote the

quite amusing, and sometimes bizarre tales of.........

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

During one of  her encounters she meets up with a Mock Turtle who's  involved in a silly song /dance called The Lobster Quadrille..

Alice with the Mock Turtle and a passing Griffin.

The Lobster Quadrille. (AKA The Mock Turtle Song)

"Will you walk a little faster?

said the whiting to the snail,

there's a PORPOISE close behind us,

and he's treading on my tail.

I see how eagerly the lobsters all advance,

they are waiting on the shingle,

Will you come and join the dance?

 Will you, wont you,

Won't you join the dance?

 You really  have no notion,

 how delightful it will be,

when they take us up and throw us,

with the lobsters out to sea!

 But the snail replied,

 " Too far,  too far,"

and gave a look askew-

Said, he thanked the Whiting kindly,

but he would not join the dance.

 Would not, could not,

 would not, could not,

Could not join the dance !

I can't tell you how relieved I am to have finished this  piece about 'nonsense'  POETRY.... After four attempts to get the.....

'Will you, won't you' texts in,  my usually most efficient PC decided to erase them and half of the pictures, so it has taken me two days to put it right, Now I am having feelings of doubt about my chosen subject....Blahh...Blahh..                                     Darkened room is now required !

Sincere thanks to the PAR EXCELLENT  Denise for devising ABCW.

and to Roger the PARAGON  of virtue and knowledge, who keeps the 'show on the road'. Last but not least the team of  helpers who, week after week, support Roger in his administrations on our PANASONIC  site !

Best wishes to all

from Di. xx

Introduction of the letter O

Wherever I look I see O's. Every circle is an "O".

To begin with food and the plate you put it on.

Flowers are often round, they are never rectangular.

The sun,the moon ,the planets and all other celestial bodies are round, if we see them from our round planet Earth.

Our eyes are round.

Our coins all over the world are round

Our crockery: cups, saucers , plates tea-set, they are all round. I have never seen a rectangular cup, however a rectangular plate. is quite common nowadays.

Mushrooms are mostly round.

Manhole-cover in Norway

Street decoration in Tenerife

This milk-can is round

Its lid forms a perfect letter O.

N = Notify

abc18melodyABC-Wednesday by Mrs. Nesbitt -

 Round 18 -N

Hello and good morning, -afternoon, -evening, dear people who all participate is this wonderful photomeme, which is a joy to me, week after week, after week. I’m always curious to what you come up with!

The challenging letter of this week is the N and i've chosen the word: Notification

We all know them in different kinds.
There are pleasant ones and there are also unpleasant ones, some make us happy and others make us sad... in every way, they are part of our daily lives.

One of the most pleasant ones for me is the e-mail i receive on Monday from Roger, our host here at ABC. In his mail he notifies me (and all other teammembers) which letter is on call and other necessary info, like for example the question to visit you, all participants.

In these modern times in which technically almost everything is possible, we get lots and lots of notifications every day in the most different kinds too. E-mail is one of them but cellphones do a good job to in delivering notifications. Other ways, like real post on your doormat are used to but much less.

For today i notify all of you that the letter N is on turn and that i look forward to your entries!

So... notify me, and everyone else, of your entry and surprise me (us) with it!

The notification i want to end this intro with is:
Thank you for participating and notifying us every week.

M is for MOVING

Welcome once again to ABC Wednesday, a meme created by the magnificent Lady Denise and administered by the mighty Sir Roger.  This week we are focusing on the letter M as in a "Mighty Moving Mess."

I'm sure you've all been through the experience of moving from one abode to another - at least once in your lifetime.  Some have to move every few years because of work or school or whatever and seem to have the process down to perfection.  I, on the other hand, haven't moved for almost 13 years and it was quite an ordeal this time.  Although I had decluttered and got rid of anything useless or unneeded at this time of my life, it still seemed like I was caught up in a tornado when the actual moving day came.

However, I've now been in my new place for a month and most of the aches and pains (literal and otherwise) have dissipated and I now can honestly say I made the right decision and feel very much "at home" now.  Here are a few shots of the upheaval and disorder I had to manage through.  And on my personal ABCW this week, I've posted some "after" shots of the inside of my new condo.  By the way, the gardens outside are blooming now - the cherry blossoms are in bloom, the azaleas are magnificent and the daffodils are still creating a spot of sunshine even on rainy days.

Well, how will this mess ever get cleaned up and organized?  Is there any chance it will become a nice place to live?  Pop by my personal blog and see what I've done with the place so far.
