R is for Roger

When Mrs. Nesbitt gave us the RITE of writing this introduction, I thought it was to introduce ourselves to you. So, I will.

I am Roger and I am reticent, reserved, retiring, retrospective, reliable, respectful, realistic, reasonable, and reclusive.

I am also rowdy, rambunctious, raucous, ridiculous, radical, rambunctious, rebellious, reckless, rascally, and rollicking.

It all depends how I ROLL out of bed.

I do try NOT to be redundant, raunchy, raging, rude, or ruthless.

But I don't mind if I'm reminiscent, reflective, rejoicing, relaxed, resourceful, romantic or restorative.

RAH! I'm relieved I'm done, and relish the opportunity to read what you wrote, even if it's by rote.

Oh, yeah, a REMINDER about the RIGHT way to post to ABC Wednesday.

1. Write a post that in some even tenuous way REFLECTS the letter of the week. It doesn't have to be written on Tuesday or Wednesday; it could be from the previous Friday or Sunday. Make it clear that the post is for ABC Wednesday by both having a link to ABC Wednesday and an indication somewhere that R is for Roger, e.g.; doesn't need to be in the title, as it could be in the body of the post. Using one of the badges would be especially nice. Some folks post to multiple memes and that's OK, but if you mention the other ones and don't mention ours...

2. Post the specific URL of that post to the Linky that is available about 4 p.m., Greenwich Mean Time on Tuesdays, which turns out to be 11 a.m or noon, U.S. Eastern time, depending on when the clocks change. By SPECIFIC URL, we mean, e.g., http://www.rogerogreen.com/2011/05/01/r-is-for-real-rodin, not just http://www.rogerogreen.com/. There are two reasons for this - so people can find your specific post now and comment, especially later in the week, and so people can come back six months from now and see what people did for a letter last time through. Cheryl explained this some weeks ago.

3. CHECK THE LINK. Sometimes people have put in mywebsite@blogspot.com rather than mywebsite.blogspot.com in the Linky, which doesn't work. You should be getting an e-mail which will allow you to delete your own post and try again.

4. Comment on other people's blogs; 5 or 7 or 10, or more if you're so inclined. Check on Tuesday or Wednesday and maybe over the weekend for the later arrivals.

  8. Reader Wil said...

It's always interesting how native speakers handle the alphabet! I am sorry to say that I can offer you only one R word, but then again I am no native speaker, and the people I wrote about, weren't either, but they were important for Great Britain and also for other European countries like mine. Maybe they were even our ancestors, they certainly affected our languages these Romans.

  13. Love your Face, and nice to see what a Roger looks like too.

Being I am so way behind and won't be able to catch up in my time of grieving my lost...I only hope and wish for another season of ABC Wednesdays in the future to start all over again and in hopes that I will be able to stick with it without any disruptions in the process.

  14. Raves for you R-introduction and so very pleased to meet you, sort of in person, Rog. One more adjective I would use to describe you is iRRepressible. And you are indefatigable, reaching out it seems to every ABC participant. Thanks for that!

  15. Geez I get dizzy with your self description, lol !
I always thought this was a photo meme. Because there is an Alphabet Thursday by Jenny Matlock which is only text. I keep to my cats !

  17. oops, - Roger I made a serious error with my posting, and posted the draft, rather than the blog. I have posted the blog now, but how do I get rid of the other embarrassing icon that says BLOG on it in large white letters!!!!

I know you are reliable (because you said so up above) and can help.... many thanks
