P for Peace

I was inspired by Roger's mail about not being on the grid.

chased by everyone
found by none
is peace a myth?


Yeah my favourite word Peace... . Everyone aspires for it but here is what I think. Do you really find peace anywhere.. Yes there are brilliant places close to nature all over the globe that is peaceful.. 
But is the mind really at peace once you get there. In this technology dominated world does anyone really rememember what peace feels like? You get this really brilliant place and what happens? Either a mobile or a camera comes out for an immediate selfie or for putting up the picture in  blogs. Yeah well I do that too :) How many in todays world would really dare to leave all of the devices behind and just travel the old fashioned way. Is that also enough to find this elusive
experience.  Why travel to find peace.. Cant it be found in daily  living as well?

Perhaps I am in one of my many Philosophican moods (or is it???) but I do think its a pertinent question... Don't you?

What are the things you would do to find peace?

    Profound writing Pheno and so true.
    I have always felt that peace comes from within and looking at world leaders who deliberately provoke
    futile wars, such as Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin et al, they were deeply troubled men and did not exude airs
    of peacefulness,

    Peace is a great subject to ponder about. I find peace at places or situations far from ". the Madding Crowd". Be it at home with a cup of coffee listening to the music I love or be it somewhere in a beautiful piece of nature alone or with friends whatever.
    My moments of peace are never long. Peace is not the absence of war, aggression or beligerent language. I don't know if there is an everlasting time. Maybe that is what we call heaven. There is a lot to think about.

    Ahh peace. I do not think we will ever have complete peace between nations and peoples on earth. The word peace is used in so many different ways. This week I'm enjoying a peaceful week at home in contrast to a chaotic week last week. The most important peace I can have is peace with God and that comes from my faith in God's son, Jesus Christ. That is a peace that transcends any chaos the world throws our way...

    I don't believe we can have perpetual peace until the day we die. However, I do manage to find peace sometimes when I'm spending time with my family, in prayer, and/or working on my artwork. Blessings!

    Peace is no longer a tangible entity to me, and I'm not sure that it ever has been. Peace is now just simply a state of mind for me. I'm not going to find it outside of my own head, so I don't even look there anymore.

    We do find peace at our cabin home. It is off the grid in more ways than one. Until this year we only had cell phone two way access to the outside world. This year we did add cellular data, but have been careful with it. My husband downloads the paper and checks his email once a day. I don't bother, I get mostly junk anyway. I get mine ever three days or so. We have plenty of time for reading and writing, and enjoying our natural surroundings. Yes, we can find peace because we make the effort. - Margy

    Most days I feel at peace with myself in compare at how I once was before my mother had passed away in 2011, then I wasn't at peace with myself let alone even with my family then. Being a caregiver without having help from rest of family was one of the hardest thing I ever had done then.

      Fritz Ann- my mom died in 2011 too. My baby sister was caretaker, and it was tough.

    Great post :Pheno. I believe that you cannot find peace. Peace comes from total surrender and acceptance of all that is.
