ABC-Wednesday ~ 19-C
Hello and good morning, -afternoon, -evening, dear people who all participate is this wonderful photomeme, which is a joy to me, week after week, after week.
I’m always curious to what you come up with!
The challenging letter of this week is the C
And I've chosen for Coffee
Ever since I was a little girl I have loved it! I start my day with it and I end my day with it.
I have never counted the cups of it I drink per day.
First I always had mild and suger in it but since I've discovered, somewhere in the 90's that suger triggered migraines I stopped with using it. It took a while to get acustomed to it but now I would not drink even a zip of it when it containes sugar. My migraines dropped dramaticly in numbers after I stopped using sweets.
At home I drink regular coffees, like on the photo, but I also like cappuccino's or other kinds which for example are served in local shops from Starbucks ore other restaurants when I visit them.
So....whenever you would like to offer me a drink.... coffee is always the perfect choice ;-)
Have a nice ABC-Wednesday-day / - week ♫ M e l o d y ♫ (ABC-W-team)

C stands for Calamity Jane.
Calamity Jane's real name was Martha Jane Cannary. She was an American frontiers woman and often rode shotgun on stage coaches, delivering mail to the small towns around the 'Wild West', and protecting passengers from marauding Red Indians and local bandits. Both of her parents died when she was fourteen years of age so she raised her younger siblings single-handed.
She was a rowdy woman, she grew up acting and looking like a man. Also she drank like a fish and could shoot like a cowboy. One of her close friends was Wild Bill Hickok, in fact it was widely rumoured that they were having a relationship!
She performed in many travelling wild west shows, including the famous 'Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show'.
Now for the real Calamity Jane.....in my humble opinion..........is the one and only Miss Doris Day, in the delightful Hollywood movie, she danced and sang her heart out and her portrayal of Calamity Jane was sheer Hollywood perfection.
Who can forget the wonderful song and dance routines?

Calamity singing 'A woman's touch'- this is when she suddenly discovers her feminine side.
Once I had a secret love'
Edith Head-famous costume designer for some of the most beautiful female actors-said Doris had the most perfect figure she's ever fitted. Plus her voice was pure, she was a truly talented singer and dancer too.
'I just got back from the Windy City'.
Calamity Jane gets her man Wild Bill Hickok ( Howard Keel ) So handsome.
Nothing like a sprinkling of Hollywood sparkle dust to tell a story what it should be like.... not how it was! It's a miserable rainy Sunday afternoon so I am just settling in my cosy recliner to watch ?? Yes you've guessed....
'Calamity Jane'!
My sincere thanks to the charismatic Denise for devising ABCW an also too Roger our charitable admin. man for doing what he does and doing it so well! CHEERS to all the team who support Roger and Denise ....may the creativity continue!
Best wishes,
Di.

Come One, Come All
This week we celebrate the letter C.
Children learn that C is for Cat or Cucumber or Cauliflower or Corn or Cake or Caterpillar, etc.
But I would like to take this opportunity to say "Come One, Come All" to ABC Wednesday! We have already welcomed a few new participants during the first two weeks of Round 14 and we invite everyone - regulars, occasional, or new - to ask your friends to join in. I've made so many new friends here in the - oh my gosh, have I really been doing this for over 6 years? Time flies when you're having fun, so they say. Even if you can't post one week because you're on holidays or you're sick or you forget, jump in and post whenever you can. The more the merrier! And don't forget to check that your link works after you submit your post. Go on the home page of ABCW and click on your link and it should come up. If it doesn't, try again.

Anyway, "Come one, come all" is a old English idiom. It would be included in a posting for some event, maybe a play somewhere. Three hundred years ago, travel was a real effort and this was a guarantee that even if you were the only one who came to the event, it would go on and your travel effort would not have been in vain. So come on everyone! Come one, come all, ABC Wednesday will go on. And here is your personal golden ticket to the colossal event!

C is for Carver
My mother's father was always known by his middle name which was Carver. He died when my mother was 2 months old so she and I never knew him. Below is a photo of my Grandfather Carver probably taken not long before he died.
I was named after my Grandfather and although Carver was also my middle name that's what everyone always called me. I ended up dropping my first name, since I had never been known by that name, when I got married in 1980 so Carver has been my first name since then. Below is a photograph of me when I was little Carver as opposed to now when I'm aging Carver.
Of course carver is also what someone is when they carve a turkey or roast but I've never been very good at that kind of carving. Come on in and join the fun with the letter C.

C is for CATS !
For those who don't know my username "Gattina" means "Kitten" in Italian. It also means "Chat" in French. In Art school they called me Madame Chat, which means Mrs. Cat, but it can be quite confusing, as English speaking people think that I am a chatter box. Bad tongues pretend that they are right. So as I am a cat fan I just wanted to explain who don't know what living with a cat means :
There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast. (even at 4 am)
Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods.
Cats have never forgotten this.
Cats are smarter than dogs. You can't get eight cats to pull a sled through snow.
In a cat's eye, all things belong to cats.
As every cat owner knows, nobody owns a cat.

C is for...... Chubskulit...
Hi everyone, Chubskulit here. I am delighted that I was given the chance to be part of this educational and exciting meme, ABC Wednesday. Thank you to ABC Team for giving me this opportunity to contribute to Round 10. I am a mother of two chubby cheeks I called Burritos. These two keeps me busy but the cuddles, chuckles, and lots of hugs and kisses are always the rewards I truly enjoy. So are you ready to chime in? Come and gather your Cs and explore what we CAN show and learn through ABC this week. A picture below was taken a couple of years ago in Chinhae, South Korea.
What utterly impractical or useless skill do you possess that most people do not?
- I can cross my eyes for a long time, can you?
If someone were to play you in the movie of your life, which actor would that be?
- Gong Li, the actress in Memoirs of a Geisha.
What piece of music do you most identify with? Perhaps, it's your theme song
- I am a fan of Celine Dion so it would be "The Prayer"
.
What food would you most like to have if nutrition and calories were not an issue?
- Fried Fish
What is your most favorite and least favorite sound?
- I love Country music but don't like metal songs
Top 3 people (dead or alive) would you invite to dinner? What would the main course be?
- My late father and brother ( I have so many things to tell them that I wasn't able to say when they were still here), and Mother Teresa, I have so many questions to ask her . Rice and chicken cordon bleu.
Have a great week!

C, it is almost a circle......
A cacophony of C’s careens through the crevices of my so-called brain! The cadences of music creep without caution from my cranium.
A song from Bing Crosby -- “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas” -- sounds so comforting as we contend with the current heat wave in the Midwest USA.
Per chance, is it the conundrum of staying cool that is making me “Crazy” -- as in the hit by Patsy Cline.
And speaking of Willie Nelson (he wrote “Crazy”), I crave outlaw country lyrics as they continue to surface willy-nilly. “Chances will be taken….” croons Gary P Nunn in this ditty, the “London Homesick Blues.” It became the theme song of the PBS TV show, Austin City Limits, the longest running popular music show on American TV.
Of course, there is the ultimate country song, “you don’t have to call me darlin’, darlin’, but you never even call me by my name”, by Steve Goodman and John Prine which was a big hit for David Allan Coe.
Contrary to what you may be thinking, and lest you conclude I cotton only to country, here is a little Chopin played by Piotr Anderszewski, a Gilmore Artist (from Kalamazoo’s Gilmore International Keyboard Festival).
Have I cajoled you into contributing to the celebration of C?
Please come up with something to calm down the consternation in the convoluted cubicle of my head!
Throw caution to the wind and join in!
