J for Jungle.

Today I'm writing about another of my favourite childhood stories, it's called 'The Jungle Books' written in  1894 by an aspiring young writer, Rudyard Kipling; born in Bombay (Mumbai) in 1865 . His parents John Lockwood Kipling, an artist and teacher of architectural sculptures and his mother Alice, who also was a teacher. My grandma once confided in me that her side of the family were distantly related to Rudyard Kipling, via her Great Grandma, that they were second cousins. All this was very hush hush, as I believe there was some illegitimacy involved. Grandma then informed me I was not to mention this to anyone else... so didn't,  until now!

The  tales in The Jungle Books are fables using animals in an anthropomorphic manner to give moral lessons. The verses of the law of the Jungle. For example, to lay down rules for the safety of individuals, families and communities. The three best known of these are the  stories revolving around Mowgli an abandoned "man cub" who is raised by wolves in the Indian Jungle.

Several versions of these stories have been produced and I'm pretty sure most people know of them if only by watching the delightful animated Disney movie.

If my Grandma's claims are correct you could just claim that you know of a  'far removed cousin' (if only) of Rudyard Kipling.

My sincere thanks to the JOLLY Denise for devising abcw, also to ROGER  the JUDICIOUS 'admin' man for doing what he does and of course Leslie who JUSTLY assists him.
