20-N

      Hello and good morning, -afternoon, -evening, dear people who all participate is this wonderful photo-meme, which is a joy to me, week after week, after week. I’m always curious to what you come up with!

 The challenging letter of this week is N and I've chosen for the word: Nothing

Thinking about that word... I realize that I think that it is a strange word because what does it really mean?  Does it even really exist?

 In the province of The Netherlands, where I was born and raised, we have flat land, and much much much empty spaces like you see on my photo. One could say, there is nothing but is that really true?

Can one see nothing, can one hear nothing, can one feel nothing? I would say: No one can not because there is always something, no matter how small, invisible even maybe, but still, there is something. To be seen, to be heard, to be felt.

 In another way... having to live with a bi-polar disorder... nothing is a word that can frighten me sometimes. How strange is that, as I am convinced at the same time that 'nothing' does not exist? Still my conviction does not always have the upperhand. Feeling 'nothing' is not possible but feeling 'alone' in the sense that there is nothing / nobody for you at such a desperate moment... makes anxious.

 Nothing... if it were up to me I would erase that word in any language, or change it into something which tells us that it is something 'strange', non existent even perhaps.

What ever it really it... we all see, we all hear, we all feel.
We all are human and living.
Life is, however less it sometimes might look, never nothing but always something.

 I am very curious to your ideas about this word, so please share them with me?

Have a nice ABC-Wednesday-day / - week ~

N is for New Car

There is nothing nicer than taking delivery of a  New Car.

We've been driving Honda CRV's for the past nine years but, as needs change, I've been finding it increasingly more difficult to hoist myself  in and out of the car.

Recently husband had to part with his beloved 20-year-old BMW 5 series, it was sitting on the drive doing nothing, we really don't need two cars now,  thus, it failed it's MOT which meant spending a lot of money on it, plus the cost of insurance and road tax, it was a very expensive indulgence!

 (Below the beloved vintage, almost, BMW).

 'Parting is such sweet sorrow !

BMW Tourer 3ID

I knew he was missing his old car so we decided upon another BMW and here it is, (above) Oh! how we love it.  It has cream leather seats with heated front seats for passenger and driver.

 I can get in and out of it quite easily and the seats  are really comfortable.

Later on, in this month we are driving to Powys in mid-Wales to a lovely, ECO

Lodge holiday cottage, in a pretty little village called St Harmon,

 Rhayader pictured below (Rhayader the oldest town in mid-Wales.)

  I don't doubt himself will, 'put the New car through its paces'.

 We will drive through some beautiful scenery, the area is called ;

'The Lake District of Wales'.

The river Claerwan which runs through the town and  Elan Valley

The Elan Valley Dam.

The Chapel in the valley at Autumn, the time we shall be visiting,

 I'm so excited as we haven't had a holiday for some time now due to my on-going health issues and my husband 's too!

  We've both spent the past two years in and out of hospital clinics but now as all is settled, for the time being,  we hope to really enjoy this special time together, in the lovely autumnal scenery.

'Happy Anniversary My Darling'

 We will celebrate our 29th Wedding Anniversary, in a gorgeous Eco lodge near to the lovely scenes above.

My thanks to Denise, a NATIONAL TREASURE who devised ABCW,  Roger the administrator who has NOBLY  worked tirelessly to keep ABCW running, along with the NOTABLE Leslie, and NOT  forgetting the NATTY  team of Abcw helpers.

N = Notify

abc18melodyABC-Wednesday by Mrs. Nesbitt -

 Round 18 -N

Hello and good morning, -afternoon, -evening, dear people who all participate is this wonderful photomeme, which is a joy to me, week after week, after week. I’m always curious to what you come up with!

 The challenging letter of this week is the N and i've chosen the word: Notification

 We all know them in different kinds.
There are pleasant ones and there are also unpleasant ones, some make us happy and others make us sad... in every way, they are part of our daily lives.

 One of the most pleasant ones for me is the e-mail i receive on Monday from Roger, our host here at ABC. In his mail he notifies me (and all other teammembers) which letter is on call and other necessary info, like for example the question to visit you, all participants.

 In these modern times in which technically almost everything is possible, we get lots and lots of notifications every day in the most different kinds too. E-mail is one of them but cellphones do a good job to in delivering notifications. Other ways, like real post on your doormat are used to but much less.

 For today i notify all of you that the letter N is on turn and that i look forward to your entries!

 So... notify me, and everyone else, of your entry and surprise me (us) with it!

 The notification i want to end this intro with is:
Thank you for participating and notifying us every week.

N for Nice

Hello and good morning, -afternoon, -evening, dear people who participate is this wonderful photomeme, which is a joy to me, week after week, after week. Always curious to what everyone of you comes up with ;-) This week's challenging letter is N and the word I've chosen is NICE.
Not simply a word of four letters! A word with lots of meanings if I may say so! Thinking about it.... different memories spring to mind... I am grateful for the countless "NICE" things in my life. I think we all know far to well how important it is to be aware of the "NICE" things that surround us every day again because life can be very difficult, almost impossible to live at some points. We all know hurt of one or other way... things that are precious to us that we lose. People who we love dearly, we had and have, to let go.. Life comes to all of us as it is... we have to unwrap that 'present' and we are obligated to ourselves to make the best of it.

No matter how hard and difficult, or seemingly impossible, it is. "NICE" ... like I said earlier, not just a word of 4 letters. This word can be replaced by many other, a word that fits you personally...the meaning behind it is obvious. The struggles of life can be saddening but also rewarding if you can look back at them after some time has passed. Although I always wish for nobody to feel pain, nor get hurt in any way I am intelligent enough to know that everyone of us will meet bad things in his/her life but for all of you i wish that your life me be a constant blessing! And if its not, then I wish you the strength to deal with whatever comes on your path!

Just remember... you are a beautiful human being who is loved by many people, and lets be honest, "love" is the nicest gift one ever can receive!

N for Nesbitt & Neighbours

here I am.....Mrs Nesbitt. This photo was taken a couple of days ago, at a fund raising event I had organised. It was a breakfast event where people popped in for a bacon or sausage butty.
People travelled from far and wide - in bad weather to support the event.
Years ago when ABC Wednesday was just an idea I never dreamed that we too would pop in every week and check out what was happening with our neighbours like yourselves scattered around the globe..........but we do, week in week out.....all part of the bigger picture.
Summed up I feel in the words of John Donne.....
"No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; "

Nail News

It's Letter Number 14 of the Alphabet
Welcome to N

Do you have any superstitions?  I don't, except one, which I can attribute to my Grandmother who said it was very bad luck to cut your nails on a Friday or a Sunday.  She had ignored this superstition once (on a Sunday) and the result was immediate disaster.  An axe cutting into my uncle's leg, one snip of her finger nail and a cry coming from the bottom of the orchard.  She was a great storyteller so this is a very much a synopsis but her tale was  impressionably dramatic to a young mind and has stayed with me.  As the old rhyme says:
Cut them on a Monday, you cut them for health;
Cut them on Tuesday, you cut them for wealth;
Cut them on Wednesday, you cut them for news;
Cut them on Thursday, a new pair of shoes;
Cut them on Friday, you cut them for sorrow;
Cut them on Saturday, you see your true love tomorrow;
Cut them on Sunday, your safety seek,
The devil will have you the rest of the week.
So cut your nails on a Wednesday for news, or alternatively visit the other contributors to ABC Wednesday where there will be news and views from all over the world.

N for New

New is the look of this old Crab-apple tree

I 'd like to introduce  the N of  New trees and New blossoms

A New spring and a New sound of young birds we hear for the first time.

All trees look like new. Their flowers are here for the first time and... for the last time. They are so beautiful, but their lives are so short.Every new spring brings new flowers, new birds, new hope.... Enjoy and admire the new introduction of N!

New crab-apple blossom.

IMPORTANT

If you take part in this game, please use the letter N in a photo, or in a poem, a story...whatever, and refer to the founder of this meme:Mrs. Denise Nesbitt and to Roger who took over from her. Please don't forget!!

I hope to see you all!

Wil, ABCW Team

N is for Nobody But YOU

There was this song called Nobody But Me, originally written and recorded by the Isley Brothers back in 1962, that was a #8 hit in 1968 for a group called the Human Beinz. After a bunch of the word "No", we discover that:

Nobody can do
The shing-a-ling
Like I do

And the singer goes through a bunch of dances - the skate, the boo-ga-loo, the Philly - at which he excels.

You might have heard it:

Well, I wanted to turn that on its head a bit:

No no no no no no no no no
No no no no no no no no
No no no no no no no no
No no no no no

Nobody can do a blog post like you do
Nobody can take a photo like you do
Nobody can write a poem like you do
Nobody can make an essay like I do

Well don't you know you write
You doin', ain't nobody doin'
But you, people
Nobody but you

Yes you're gonna snap
You're doin', ain't nobody doin'
But you, people
Nobody but you

OK, it's NOT poetry. But it's well-meaning...

N is for a Novel Letter

N  is one of those nail biter letters that says no and never, not now and nothing.
 Nevertheless all is not negative nor nihilistic.
Where else but with N can you can find a

 Never Never Land

 where you can nibble on nachos and wait for the Loch Ness monster Nessie.

Where else but with an N can you eat noodles,

ride narwhals

and pick nasturtiums?

Not likely any other letter prides itself on neolatry.

Nuts about ABC Wednesday

To those who are NEW and the NOT so NEW visitors of the ABC Wednesday NETWORK, it's so NICE to see you here!

You can share anything that comes to mind, a poem or NARRATIVE that you wrote in your NOTEBOOK, an image of something that can or cannot be seen by the NAKED eye, something about NATURE, a recipe of your homemade NACHOS, a piece of jewelry like your favorite NECKLACE, a photo of a steaming bowl of NOODLES, something NICE but NEVER NAUGHTY, you can also share something about your favorite NOVELS or NOVELIST,  or how about sharing a story of a NOSTALGIC NUPTIALS photograph?

I think this introduction is becoming too long. I think I better go to my NOISELESS NOOK to think of what to share for this week's NOTEWORTHY edition of ABC Wednesday!

Just a small NOTE:

Please link up to your ABC Wednesday post and NOT your main blog page. There are times that we NARROWLY miss your post/entry because we still NEED to NAVIGATE through your main page to look for your ABC Wednesday entry.

How do you find the permalink of your post?

It's easy! After creating your post, click on the link that says View Post, NOW look at the top of your NEWLY created blog post, you'll see the address bar, NOTICE that long string of address showing at the space that says: http://www.yourblogname.yourblogserviceprovider.com/year/month/titleofyourpost.html (very much like this one: http://abcwednesday-mrsnesbitt.blogspot.com/2011/04/nuts-about-abc-wednesday.html), highlight that, then copy, paste it in the URL field of Mr. Linky and you're done!
