P is for People

I think it's really great that we have this clever Internet technology. But without the PEOPLE to connect to, it would be an empty exercise. Folks who aren't involved online tend to think it is not POSSIBLE to make friends with folks you have never met in PERSON. I PROBABLY felt the same before I began blogging. But now I find that my PEEPS are all over the world!

Here are some PEOPLE songs:

People by Shirley Bassey
People Are Strange by the Doors
People Get Ready by the Impressions
People Got to be Free by the Rascals

  1. People are more important than rules. There is a tendency in my country to think that rules and laws ought to come first and that people have to be subjected to them even if they are cruel. I noticed that it is wonderful when people care and show that they are really interested in each other. I met four bloggers personally and I had the feeling that I have known them all my life. It was great meeting them, and I hope to meet more bloggers in the future.

  2. Couldn't agree more. I have met some wonderful people through blogging, many of whom I've now connected with on facebook, and one of whom I spent a few days with in Venice one year. It is a real community. I have found deep caring and genuine interest in each other's lives. Excellent post!!

  3. I have made many blog friends who have become true friends. I spent a weekend with one of them when I visited the UK last year, and tomorrow I have lunch with another friend I met through blogging.

  10. And you're one of my favourite "peeps" now, too, even though we haven't met face to face YET! I'm going to meet Mrs. Nesbitt this summer along with a few other bloggers in England and I'm SO excited. One of my best new friends is a lady in Wales I met in 2006 when I was last there. I cannot imagine NOT having the internet now with its capability of making the world a smaller and friendlier place.

  11. I agree so much Roger. We live in an isolated village, quite remote but I never feel lonely. I feel I have many genuine good friends and I am proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the lovely people I have come to know and love - and their circumstances and family concerns too. I count you amongst them - as I said, with pride and fondness.

  14. No doubt, the Door's "People Are Strange" is a classic...talk about a blast from the past!

I too, share the same sentiment here-I am thrilled to have so many friends around the world sharing bits and pieces of our lives. I always look forward to this weekly post not knowing what to expect and what new things I will learn. I certainly feel much more connected because of this wonderful meme full of incredible people.
