Jonquil is a color as well as a flower. The name for the color came from the flower name: Narcissus jonquilla. The flowers above are the color jonquil but they are another variety. However, jonquil has also become a common name which could refer to the flowers above. Jump right in and join us for the letter J.

ReplyDeleteI love jonquilles. They are so welcome after the long gray winter we had. As a kid, I used to spend hours in the woods picking "jonquilles" and "primevères" for my mother.
