W for Wonder.

A great and mighty Wonder,  a full and holy cure:

 The virgin bears the infant with virgin honour pure!

 Repeat the hymn again:

 "To God on high be glory

 And peace on earth to men!"


 The word becomes incarnate and yet remains on high,

 And cherubim sing anthems to shepherds from the sky

Repeat the hymn again:

 "To God on high be glory And peace on earth to men!" 

While thus they sing your monarch, those bright angelic bands

Rejoice ye vales and mountains, ye oceans clap your hands


Repeat the hymn again:

 "To God on high be glory;

 And peace on earth to men".

And idol forms shall perish, and error shall decay,

 And Christ shall wield his sceptre, our Lord and God for aye....


 Repeat the hymn again:

To God on high be glory

 And  peace on earth to men!"


Sadly, as I write about 'peace on earth to men' using the words of a favourite Greek carol, innocent Turkish people have been killed by crazy suicide bombers....  WHY ? 

 Remember this?

WHERE have all the flowers gone, long time passing...

WHEN will they ever learn? ......

    Wonderful post Di.

    Although I cherish my faith and have a strong hold on it, I feel sad for all those around is on our world who have to suffer to much from pain and misery which I can not understand. The indescribable horrific things that happen... I pray and hope for Him to take action to make things right for all of us!

      Hi Melody,
      Thank you for your kind words, most appreciated
      .I don't think it is easy for God to 'take action'
      against the evil forces because I truly believe that,
      their beliefs are contorted ideals and are
      taken from the most holy scriptures of the Koran and twisted and
      vilified to suit their archaic and murderous means.
      Until their Alah (God) deals with them and makes them stop their
      wicked doings, I'm afraid there is little more that we can do other
      than pray.....and I do believe in the power of prayer, it's pulled
      me through many almost impossible situations..

      Jeannette, It is just an image I took from Google,
      so I'm not sure, I used it to illustrate 'the sea clapping it's hands'
      I don't claim to be the photographer....I felt the picture suited
      my thoughts.
