T is for...

TEN

Ten years!!!

That's how long this blog has been around.  I joined at about the halfway point and it's been an interesting ride.

Anyone here who has been here since round one?

I'd love to see some of your early posts and hear how you feel the blog has evolved.

It's time to unveil the badge for round 20, our final round and I have to say this was one of the Toughest for me to do.

I knew what I wanted to do.  But I kept putting it off.

I believed that if I procrastinated long enough it would change the inevitable result.  But that never works, so with encouragement from Roger, I completed the final badge.

I only wish we had actual shirts.

So T is for T-shirt and for farewell Tour.

But mostly T is for Thank You to each of you who has stayed with us.

T is for Tease

It's that TIME again.

When I get to TEASE you with a sneak preview of the design for next round's badge.

I'm being terribly selfish this round and going with something near and dear to me.

Many of you know I was in a serious industrial accident ten years ago.

After years of rehab and physical therapy I was able to return to work this year driving a TRUCK.

Since the number 18 makes me think of TRUCKING, I wanted to do something for round 18 that paid a TRIBUTE to the men and women around the world who work long hard hours to bring us the clothes we wear, the cars we drive, the toys we enjoy, and the food we eat.

Additionally, as Roger pointed out to me, many people start driving at the age of 18, or start their own adventures heading out into the world, so this is a nod to the freedom of 18 as well.

Keep on TRUCKING, ABC Wednesday! 18 and rolling on.

Now that you've seen my TEASE, It's your turn.

What did the letter T inspire you to blog about this week?

Too Many Troys?

I looked back over the last few years and realized that I have written several very similar "T" introductions, revolving around Time. Time seems to always be forefront in my mind, so it creeps into my posts, but I Thought I would write about something completely different This Time. A fun "T" fact. Because my name is Troy, I am perhaps more aware of this fact than most people, but since I work in a city named Troy, I notice it even more. Did anyone, besides me, know that there are Twenty-Three states in the USA that have a city named Troy? It reminds me of a Dr Seuss poem, named Too Many Daves Does anyone beside me ever see their name on a road sign, and get a little Tickled? Today's Theme is T. What T Thing Tickled you Today?

T is For

I know it seems TRITE, this TIME of year.  But TODAY, for me, T is for THANKS.

I am THANKFUL for the THINGS that I have, the opportunities, and the challenges.

For the people in my life who TEACH me.  (Some by setting an example for me to follow, and some by showing me what I do NOT want to do.)

It's been a busy, a strange... dare I say it... a TUMULTUOUS year, in our business, and in my life.

I am THANKFUL it happened, and THANKFUL it is almost over.

And of course, all of us here on the ABC Wednesday TEAM are THANKFUL for each of you who join us here each week.

Now, tell us about the T in your life:

Time for T

Time is Tricky.

Nobody has enough.
Yet we all waste so much of it.

We beg a few moments, pass a few hours, and soon we are on borrowed time.
Once it is gone, it can never be recovered.

And oddly, every year around this time, I find myself wondering where the Time has gone.

It seems just weeks ago that I wrote an intro for "F", and as I invited people to share their posts for their own fifteen minutes of fame, I realized that round fifteen was approaching.  Could I base the next badge, for round fifteen on the concept of fifteen minutes of fame?

How would I portray it in a logo?

How could I create a design that invited people to share their blog, and be, in their own unique way, famous, for the time it takes us to read their post?

Through the Process of Trial and Error, I came up with something I could live with.

So, next round, each week, as you share your blog, you will be enjoying your own moment in the spotlight.

And isn't it about Time?

Time for T

Of course, it goes without saying that my favorite T word is "Troy"

But after that it becomes less clear.

But one T word I do NOT like is "Time"

Now, owning an herb business, I hear more than my fair share of Time/Thyme jokes.  And I even make a few myself. But although I love Thyme, Time leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.

It makes my hair grey, (what little I have left that is)  gives me wrinkles and creaky joints, and contrary to popular belief, it does NOT heal all ills.

It teases, taunts and torments, then slips away and hides.  I can never find time.  And that is because Time flies, and I do not.

So, Time has been flying along, and it is already time to reveal the logo for the next round, round 14.

But before I do, I just want to explain it a bit, and I confess, I can do it better if I don't focus on T words, so please forgive me in advance.

Now this will be a longer intro than usual, please be patient with me.

The upcoming round is 14, so I wanted to do something that represented the number 14.

Numbers are funny things, because they mean lots of different things to lots of different people.  But the number 14 has some fun symbolism associated with it.

T is for two intros.

T is for turkeys and tarantulas. It's about ticklish turtles and tubby toads as well as talkative toddlers.

T is for a tall tyrannosaurus tumbling on a trampoline while sipping tea.

T is for giving thanks.

-Linda

T is the letter for Today.

From trials and tribulations to triumphs and treasures, our lives are filled with both good and bad things that start with T.

So what T's were a part your life today?

Did you travel to another town?

Take a picture of a turtle with a telephone?

Make a trip to the Emergency room at Two AM?

Tie a line on your fishing pole?

Take a nap?

See a wild turkey and try to talk to it, using a turkey call ?

Get your truck muddy?

Tie down a tarp?

Trip a breaker?

Take a Toddler to Task?

Those are all things I have done in the last Twenty-four hours. (I took the picture with my telephone, it wasn't a turtle with a telephone.)

I wonder what Tomorrow will bring?

Only Time will Tell...

-Troy

T is for Taking Time

Today,

Take Time.

Take Time to Talk to a friend.

Take Time to Tell a loved one that you love them.

Take Time to Try something New.

Take Time to Thank someone for what they have meant to you.

Take Time to Teach a child.

Take Time to Taste a new food or Trade recipes with an old acquaintance.

Take Time to Touch the Things that matter,

Take Time To Think about Things you never want to lose

Take Time...

Because, when it boils right down to the meaning of life, and to what is really important...

...isn't it about Time?

T is TERRIFIC

TODAY it's Time for "T"

T is TERRIBLY important.
Without T there would be no TRIUMPH over TYRANTS.

We could not TASTE our TEA, or TWEET on TWITTER.
We could not TAKE TIME TO THINK.

We could not TELL THE TABLOIDS TO TELL THE TRUTH, nor could we TEACH TWIN TODDLERS TO TWIST.

We could not TALK, because we would have no TONGUES.

Without T there would be no TV, no TURKEY on THANKSGIVING, no TUBAS, TROMBONES, TRUMPETS or TIMPANI.
We would not be able to wear TROUSERS.
There would be no TRENDS, no TRAVEL, no TOURISTS, no TREASURES and no TRADE.

So please, TAKE a moment and TELL us your TRIBUTE to T.

Because worst of all, without T, there would be no TROY. And that, my friends would be TRULY TRAGIC.
